2009 Yamaha YZ 250 – 2T
This bike is the best example of how a motocross bike should look like if it is well maintained from the moment it leaves the showroom floor. This bike is in a superb condition!
I have maintained the bike for all these years and always considered preventative maintenance. Air filter cleaned and properly oiled before every ride, no matter what! Oil changed after every 3rd to 4th ride, no matter what! Plastics removed and properly cleaned after every 3rd to 4th ride. Coolant drained, flushed and completely replaced after every 3rd to 4th ride. Carburettor removed, cleaned and inspected after every 3rd to 4th ride. Brake fluid drained, flushed and replaced every year. Wheel bearings and steering head bearings replaced every year. Fork oil replaced every year. Power valve cleaned and spark plug replaced after every 3rd to 4th ride. Piston rings replaced, all engine bearing, seals, gaskets, etc. inspected every year. Suspension linkage and swing arm bearings replaced every 2 years. All the control cables replaced every 2 years. Etc. etc. etc…
I have spent roughly R 40 000 on the bike two years ago.
• The engine was re-built by ken from Game services in October 2015. This was the first major service that the bike has seen and was done only because I felt it was time. Included: new light weight piston and rings. New conrod to match the piston. New, big end, small end and main crank bearings. I replaced all the engine seals, gaskets, thrust washers, shims, keys etc. purely because I wanted to. I had the crank re-balanced because I wanted to. Power valve, springs and seals were replaced because I wanted to. The barrel was lightly honed, but looked almost like new, thanks to my almost perfect maintenance regime.
• The suspension was re-built by Ken from Game Services in November 2015. This was the first major fork rebuild that the bike has seen and was done only because I felt it was time. Included: new Race Tech Gold Valves in the front forks and rear shock. New front and rear fork tubes with brand new Kashima coating (better than stock) New front and rear damping rods (better than stock) New front Race Tech springs. New rear Eibach spring. New bushings. New seals. New billet KYB dual chamber reservoir pistons assembly. New rear shock upper and lower bearings. New shock linkage bearing kit.
• I also replaced the front mudguard, front fork shrouds and front number plate with the 2015 style ones, but got it directly from Linex Yamaha, so it is the proper original plastics and not aftermarket rubbish.
The bike has got many extras.
It would break my heart to sell this bike, but the only reason I am selling my beloved baby, is due to financial reasons.
I am looking to get R 38 000 for this splendid machine.
There is also some of my motocross kit for sale for R
If you take the bike and the kit together, I will do a deal for R
Please Note, serious buyers only, no time wa
